My name is Mark Potter, welcome to my guitar school. I provide informative, enjoyable, and rewarding guitar tuition from beginner to advanced level. I have fifteen years of professional experience, and a consistent track record of successful teaching. I work primarily with school and sixth form students, helping them to reach their musical goals, and make real progress with their guitar playing. I take on students of all ages and ability levels for private tuition.

For students who want to study for a graded exam, I teach Trinity College Rock & Pop syllabus and recently became a registered exam centre for digital submissions. Exams are not compulsory, but are recommended especially for younger musicians - they offer I marked measure of progress, and a qualification recognised both academically and in the music industry. Achieving grade 6 and above grants UCAS points.

I primarily teach and play rock and metal styles - school tuition (DBS checked) and online lessons/coaching are available. If you or your child is a budding rock star, don't feel you need a full electric guitar rig to get started - a beginner acoustic instrument is fine to get things moving (and will get a child through the early grades if they decide to take them).

Additionally, I offer home tuition where I visit students in their own home. This is available in Poundbury/Dorchester where I live, and also in the Verwood area (Dorset) on certain evenings - I previously lived near Verwood, and still teach private lessons in the area on days when school teaching takes me out that way.

What I Offer:

• I accept bookings for 'one-off' or 'as and when' tuition for those who prefer a more flexible approach - this is subject to availability around my timetabled students and school work.  
• One to one bespoke tuition - I deliver structured learning paths that allow for adaption student and their own musical goals.
• Practice targets after each lesson - no guesswork or uncertainty about what you should be doing.
• The option to record parts of the lesson to act as a reference when practicing.
• TAB, music and exercise sheets provided (students/parents are only required to buy books if they wish to study for a graded exam).

£25 - 30 minutes

£45 - 1 hour

**Discounted rate for block lesson bookings (5 lessons)**

£22 - 30 minutes (£110 for the block)

£40 - 60 minutes (£200 for the block)
